How to Connect Google Business Profile to GoodRep

Google is the first connection for most GoodRep accounts. The flow is a Google login, a location pick, and a first sync. Most failures are the wrong Google account or an unverified listing, not a broken button.

What You Need Before You Click Connect

A GoodRep account. Sign in at goodrep.io/app. If the account is new, the dashboard will show Connect Google as the primary action.

The Google account that manages the Business Profile. That is often not the Gmail the owner uses for personal mail. It is the login that can edit hours, reply to reviews, and see locations inside Google Business Profile Manager. A bookkeeper login or a personal Gmail with no listings attached will connect "successfully" and return zero locations.

At least one verified location. Google's API only returns reviews for listings that are verified in Google Business Profile. An unverified pin can appear later with no review history until verification finishes.

Facebook and Yelp are optional next steps. Those walkthroughs live in connect Facebook and connect Yelp. Google should go first.

Connect Google, Step by Step

Step 1: Open the dashboard

Go to goodrep.io/app and sign in.

Step 2: Start Connect Google

Choose Connect Google. A Google account window opens. This is Google's login, not a GoodRep password.

Step 3: Sign in as the listing manager

Pick the Google account that already manages the Business Profile. If the browser is already signed into a personal Gmail, switch accounts before approving access. Approving the wrong account is the most common miss.

Step 4: Approve access

Google will ask for permission so GoodRep can list the Business Profile locations you manage and sync reviews for the ones you choose. Read the prompts. Closing the window early cancels setup.

Step 5: Select locations

If more than one location is on that account, select the shop or shops this GoodRep workspace should monitor. Leave unchecked any listing that belongs to another brand or a closed store.

Step 6: Return and wait for the first sync

After Google sends you back to GoodRep, the first sync starts automatically. It can take a minute. The dashboard should show the location name and, when Google has them, existing reviews.

Step 7: Confirm under Reviews

Open goodrep.io/app/reviews. Filter by Google. The count should match what you see on the live Business Profile, or be close while the first pull finishes. GoodRep also runs a scheduled daily sync. Use Sync now if the list looks stale.

For listing quality itself, how to set up a Google Business Profile is the profile-side checklist. This post is only the GoodRep connection.

If Something Goes Wrong

Connected, but zero locations. The Google account that signed in does not manage any Business Profile listings. Disconnect, then connect again with the owner or manager login that can see the location in Google's own dashboard. A successful OAuth screen is not the same as a listing-owner account.

Locations appear, but no reviews. Confirm the listing is verified in Google Business Profile. Unverified locations often sync as a name and address with an empty review list. Also compare the location title in GoodRep to the live Maps listing so a similarly named pin was not selected by mistake.

Wrong location in a multi-location account. Disconnect is not always required. Re-run the connect flow and select the correct listing. If two shops share a similar name, match street address, not just the brand.

You bounced back to GoodRep with no connection saved. The Google window was closed early, or a popup blocker stopped the return. Allow popups for goodrep.io and start Connect Google again.

Reviews exist on Google but replies will not post. Confirm the same Google account can reply inside Google Business Profile Manager. If that account can reply on Google's site and GoodRep still fails, use goodrep.io/support.

After Google Is Connected

Add Facebook and Yelp if customers use those platforms. The inbox is one place; each platform still needs its own authorization. Then reply from Reviews. Drafts can be edited before they post to Google.

If nobody on the team can find which Google login owns the listing, stop and recover that access in Google first. Connecting a random Gmail will not create a Business Profile. It will only create an empty GoodRep location list.

The Bottom Line

Connect Google with the account that already manages the verified listing, pick the right location, and confirm reviews after the first sync. Zero locations almost always means the wrong Google login, not a failed product.

GoodRep pulls Google, Facebook, and Yelp into one inbox after that first connection, so the next review does not live only inside Google's app. Start free.
